So as per our Just Love Travel traditions, Sundays are known as #ChillOutSunday! Whilst of course, minus the temperature at the summit, there is little about Mount Everest that relates to chilling, we also think that chill out Sundays are somewhat of a reward for all of your hard work throughout the week. In keeping with that, imagine the satisfaction and pure serenity you would feel when reaching the top of Everest!
A little bit about the mountain itself:
Situated in Nepal, it is known as ‘Quomolangma Peak’, which translate to ‘mother goddess of the earth’ – however its official name, ‘Everest’, comes from Colonel Sir George Everest, the British surveyor General of India from 1830-1843. Soaring 8848m/29029 ft above sea level, the top of Everest is officially the highest peak in the world and dates back 50 million years. In May 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norway became the first people on record to reach the huge mountain’s summit, which continues to rise each year by around 4mm.
Don’t just use #ChillOutSundays to relax, use them as a reward for all of your hard work and challenges – you know what you’re working towards and we want to help you achieve your goals!
