Singapore’s National Day takes place on the 9th of August and celebrates the country’s independence from Malaysia in 1965.
The National Day Parade is a ceremony held at the National Stadium and is quite the spectacle to witness. An address takes place by Singapore’s Prime Minister and focusses on key challenges that the country has faced, together with its future directions and is somewhat similar to the State of Union Address made by the President of the United States.
The address takes place in Malay and Chinese from 6.45pm and later on in English.
The day is full of fun and entertainment with parades, cultural practices, air shows, performances depicting the story of Singapore, child performers, fireworks and much more! The celebration is vibrant and exciting and the perfect experience for locals and tourists alike.0
